새해를 맞이하는 모든 분들에게 “건강”이 함께 하기를 바랍니다.
인생의 말년에 접어든 사람들로부터 흔히 들을 수 있는 이야기가 있다. “내가 이렇게 오래 살 줄 알았다면 내 자신을 좀 더 잘 돌볼 것을…….” 실제로 관리자와 경영자들이 평소에 자신의 건강을 잘 돌보고 위험 요인을 미리 경계한다면 이로 인한 실제적인 이익이 많이 돌아오게 된다. 비근한 예로 존 록펠러 1세도 그렇게 함으로써 수명을 두 배로 늘렸으며 그 시대에는 거의 불가능한 98세의 삶을 살 수 있었다. 리더가 자신의 건강을 관리하는 데 있어서 중요한 점은 각자의 선천적인 강점을 잘 활용하는 것이다. 관리자와 경영자들도 저항력을 키움으로써 지속적으로 건강을 확보할 수 있다는 의미이다. 나이가 한살한살 들면서 – 특히 40대이후에는 – 무언가 하루가 다르다는 생각을 합니다. 제가 기억하는 20,30대의 몸이 아닙니다. 그렇다고 스트레스가 주는 것은 아닙니다. 몸이 이런 스트레스를 이겨낼 수 있어야 하고 마음으로 스트레스를 즐겨야 합니다.
특히 저는 “화병”을 겪은 이후 스트레스에 무척 신경을 씁니다. 아직도 수면시간이 적거나 5시간이상 집중을 하면 “가슴”이 답답합니다…다 젊은 시절 “스트레스”를 관리하지 못한 죄입니다.
그래서 “평소보다 한순간 늦게 판단하고 행동하고 일의 진행에 조급하지 않도록 생각하도록 노력합니다” 그리고 이제 한가지를 하나더 더하려고 합니다.
“하루에 일정량이상 땀을 흘리자”(^^)
